Petrichor for MAC
Free, open-source offline music player for Mac: plays 40+ formats including FLAC, with smart playlists, lyrics, gapless playback and AirPlay 2.
Petrichor Overview
Petrichor is an offline music player for the Mac, made for people who keep their own music collection. Point it at your music folders and it builds an organized library you can browse by artist, album, year or folder. It plays more than 40 audio formats, from MP3 and AAC to lossless FLAC, ALAC, WAV, APE and DSD, and it reads the real encoding of each file, so its Lossless badge is always accurate. You can create, import and export playlists, build smart playlists with detailed rules, manage the queue by drag and drop, and pin almost anything to the sidebar.
Petrichor has gapless playback, crossfade, ReplayGain volume normalization, an equalizer, Spatial Audio and AirPlay 2 output, plus synced lyrics, internet radio, Last.fm scrobbling, a miniplayer and an immersive mode. It fits into macOS with menu bar and Dock controls, dark mode, Shortcuts and Siri. Petrichor is made by Kushal Pandya and is free and open source under the MIT license, with no ads and no paid tier. Version 1.7.2 is a universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs and needs macOS 14 or later.
